The Mini-Bee has 14 high voltage switches rated up to 50 volts (don’t ever try connecting this to anything mains powered), so there's a vast array of applications for this. Not to mention the DLL that comes with the BeeStep software, allowing you to make your own VB or C++ applications.

I plan crack open a radio controlled car controller and make a PC controlled car. Add to that a wireless camera giving you visual feedback, it should be pretty cool. Using wake on LAN, the plan is to be able to boot up the PC when you’re away, control the car over the net and get live images from around your house. Cool huh?! Check out my Remote USB Spy Car project for progress.

I’m also thinking about using the X10 home automation protocol. If I can control one of the X10 key fob remotes then it should be possible to have a cheap and effective DIY PC Home Automation device.

If you’ve managed to do anything cool with it, then why not contact me.
